LandyCampers Top 9 Christmas Present Guide

2020 was a rollercoaster and while Christmas is around the corner, no-one really feels like overpriced or impractical presents this year. Thus we have come up with our favourite sustainable and thoughtful presents that will make you and your loved ones feel all warm and fuzzy inside and are something to look forward to for the months to come.

No.1

Non-alcoholic spirits from Pentire Drinks

Botanical Non-Alcoholic Drinks that capture the flavours of the Cornish Coast? Yes please! Made by distilling plants native to the Pentire peninsula, Pentire Drinks are celebrating the power and beauty of nature surrounding and the unique plant life of the headland. All while committing to responsible sources and Fair Trade and Organically Certified ingredients (and driving around in Landys of course). Have a look at their website for some awesome cocktail recipes and inspiration for cooking with foraged ingredients.

No.2

A membership with the National Trust

We have to admit: NOTHING makes us as happy at LandyCampers as our yearly membership for the National Trust we traditionally get for Bela’s birthday. Whether it’s a long walk in our local forest, days out that kept us sane during lock-down or planning the route of our road-trips according to the most stunning NT locations. As Europe’s largest conservation charity, the NT is caring for miles of coastline, woodlands, countryside and hundreds of historic buildings and gardens – encouraging all of us to spend time outside and protecting wildlife, nature and history for generations to come.

No.3

Flaming Groovy 100% Natural Candles

Located just down the road from LandyCampers HQ in the Essex countryside, Carolyn at Flaming Groovy makes the most gorgeous all natural plant based candles. Her creative blends of essential oils are inspired by embracing the feminine, empowering friendships, moon cycles, nature and general daydreaming. And we have to admit, even when travelling we always have one or two of her candles with us to create this immediate feeling of ‘home’, wherever we are!

No.4

Adoption of an animal with the Wildlife Trust

For more than a century the Wildlife Trust has been saving wildlife and wild places, increasing people’s awareness and understanding of the natural world. This year you can gift the adoption of an otter, seal, owl or many other native animals (there’s even Bottlenose dolphins), receive a lovely gift pack with lots of information on your animal and help the Wildlife Trust to keep up their invaluable work.

No.5

Gift Climate Action with Ecologi

We use and love Ecologi for double offsetting LandyCampers operational CO2 emissions, every mile driven by our rental vehicles and all our personal emissions. With Ecologi you can easily give the gift of 3, 6 or 12 months of Climate Positivity to someone you love or simply choose between different tree planting gifts if you love the idea of gifting a forest. You want to be sure where your money goes? On Ecologi’s website you find loads of information and stories about the projects that are supported with your funds and monthly published certificates of how many tonnes of CO2 have been prevented from going into the atmosphere or removed from it – all Gold Standard approved.

No.6

A relaxing visit to the Secret Sauna

An off‑grid and hidden unique Spa Experience with your private access to wild river swimming? The Secret Sauna is a wood‑fired sauna cabin perched on the banks of the River Waveney near Bungay, astride the Norfolk and Suffolk border. A perfect stop during a LandyCampers trip along the coast of East Anglia and available for bookings for those looking to unwind, recharge and enjoy nature. Gift cards can also be found on their website.

No.7

BeeBombs Wildflower Seeds

97% of natural bee and butterfly habitat has been lost in the UK in the last 80 years. BeeBombs aim to restore the lost wildflower habitat and make an important contribution to the biodiversity of Great Britain. Handmade in Dorset, Beebombs are a mix of 18 British native wildflower seeds, fine, sifted soil and locally sourced clay. They just need to be scattered onto cleared ground to create a wildflower meadow – no green thumb, only sun and water required. The perfect gift for anyone with a little (or big) outdoor space who would love to give some bees a home. Special Christmas Gift Boxes are available.

No.8

Elsewhere Sustainable Clothing

When it comes to sustainable and ethically sourced fashion, it’s great to see how the market is growing. One of our favourite small labels is Elsewhere Clothing. We came across Jay’s brand when looking for inspiration for some LandyCampers merch earlier this year and simply love the designs of his first collection created by Leeds based graphic designer Liam Ashurst. With the love of the outdoors at the heart of Elsewhere Clothing Co., sustainability is one of Jay’s core values. So next to using all vegan materials, all items come with the option of giving back to nature by planting trees and carbon neutralise orders.

No.9

LandyCampers Booking or gift voucher

We would be lying if we wouldn’t say that a LandyCampers trip is the perfect present for anyone in need of some adventure and a time‑out in nature. Book a trip with us for 2021 and take someone you would like to spend an unforgettable experience with or gift a LandyCampers voucher to someone you love for where and when the time is right for them to redeem it against a booking. Book online or get in touch if you would like a special customization or have any questions about a trip. And one more hint: make sure you visit the Secret Sauna on your trip!
